THE DEACON MINISTRY
Olivet’s Deacons Ministry is organized following the pattern used by the early spiritual leaders from the first church in Jerusalem according to Acts 6:1-4, (instructing the body of the new church to select men among them to serve in the business of the church so that the apostles could devote themselves to prayer and ministry of the Word).
 
This tradition continues today in the Olivet church where we will find the deacons assisting the pastor in promoting the spiritual welfare of the church and in matters on church discipline, assisting the pastor through the Family Care Ministry, evangelistic efforts of the church, home visitation and counseling members.

The Deacon Ministry utilizes a  committee structure to help meet the various needs of the Church. The committees are the Finance Committee, Spiritual Growth Committee, Church Complex and Facilities Committee, Personnel Committee and Rental Property Committee.
